I wish you all a happy and healthy Memorial Day. Yes it's our day too as well as the guys and girls we left in and around  Viet-Nam. I understand from the Man above that the weather will be great for the annual Annapolis Memorial Day Parade which will begin at 10 a.m. We will all meet at the intersection of Amos Garrett Boulevard and West Street. The parade will move down West Street to Main Street to the City Dock area, where we will take part in a memorial service. Please keep in mind our vet brothers, sisters and there families who did not come home like we did, and please also keep in mind those who did but never got over it. I ask you to say an extra prayer for past chapter presidents Bob Caswell and Ed Peckman, for the loss of their loved ones who passed away recently. Come and join us in our parade, fly the colors high and keep your head high and thank God, that we are from the best country in the world. We will be joined by Annapolis Mayor Dean L. Johnson, the Jewish War Veterans, the American Legion Post 7, the Vietnam Veterans of Annapolis, a past class of the U.S. Naval Academy. Some of the other  participants will include the Naval Academy and the Maryland National Guard bands, as well as honor guards from the participating veterans groups, U.S. Boy and Girl Scouts and many others. Many VIP's will take part to the tune of bagpipes and I know my heart will be beating a little harder maybe my eyes might be moist and my mind might wonder to the rice patty where I was shot through the neck. .. .I know I will be proud to be with you for our trust in GOD lets us know that our comrades are with us. . .all of them, close. See Old Glory. . .God bless each and everyone of you and your families..GOD BLESS AMERICA.

As you all know as Gods children it takes a lot of faith to feel real good about yourself. Now we have had Passover and Easter and hopefully saw the light but what does it mean to us as a group? As a group such as Chesapeake Chapter 712, VVA . . .First we start with ourselves (one each). Someone in the chapter told me that I was not special. I told him "Yes I am, and anyone who served in the Armed Services in the Vietnam war and came home back to the USA is special". Better yet as far as I know all Gods children are special to him, and really is it not what both Passover and Easter is all about?
